In an exciting development of the Turkish aviation sector, AJet (VF/TKJ) has announced a landmark partnership with dnata Switzerland to provide exclusive ground handling services for its flights in Switzerland. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for AJet as it embarks on a new chapter under a refreshed brand identity, following 15 years of service known under the AnadoluJet brand as part of a Turkish Airlines trademark and subsidiary, catering to the short to medium-haul leisure travel market.
The rebranding of AnadoluJet to AJet in November 2023 showcased a vibrant new brand identity and livery, signaling the airline's ambitious plans for the future. In a strategic move to bolster its operations, Turkish Airlines has transferred five B737-800 aircraft to AJet, enhancing its fleet and capabilities. With the recent acquisition of an air operator's certificate (AOC) in late January, AJet is all set to take to the skies as an independent airline, yet fully owned by Turkish Airlines.
From March 31st onwards, dnata Switzerland will offer its airport ground handling services to AJet at Zurich Airport for seven weekly flights to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Additionally, a weekly direct flight to Ankara Esenboğa Airport from Geneva will commence on April 6th. AJet aims to operate a fleet of Airbus and Boeing narrowbody aircraft, prioritizing sustainability and an exceptional customer experience. The airline is on an expansion spree, with plans to grow its fleet to 95 aircraft by the summer of 2024 and to 200 aircraft over the next decade.
dnata Switzerland is thrilled to extend its world-class, comprehensive airline handling services to AJet at both Zurich and Geneva Airports. With a cornerstone commitment to safety and sustainability, dnata Switzerland is poised to ensure that AJet's promises to their passengers are kept, reinforcing a seamless and enjoyable travel experience. Since 1996, dnata Switzerland has been a pillar of efficiency and reliability in the swiss aviation market, handling over 35,000 flights, managing more than 83,000 tons of cargo, welcoming over 7 million passengers, and operating three state-of-the-art lounges annually.
